    Corsets!

Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 08:55 PM CST [General]

This corset was made from an old shirt we won from in an auction lot. The shirt was really lovely but we wanted to give it a new life and look. So we took it apart carefully and cut out the corset pattern. We used Flat Steel boning, Lacing Bones, Black Bias tape, Black Grommets and a Black lacing cord. One side did come out shorter then the other we figured it was from when we trimmed the top and bottom of the corset. The mistake was not cough until prepping of the photos. We used a super fluffy pillow as the dummy. This corset is a size 12. This corset was made from a satin Chinese style shirt. In our excitement on making this corset we had forgotten to take pictures of the Original shirt. This corset is lined with black cotton fabric. We used twill fabric to reinforce the busk area. This Corset is a size 10 It has black Grommets and 3 yards of black lacing cord. The design is Chinese Dragons and peacocks. We used Black Satin Bias Edging. Flat Steel Boning Fits these measurements the best (just a guideline): Bust 32 1/2 inches Waist 25 inches Hip 34 1/2 inches If you are wanting to tight lace and are bigger then these measurements please be advised that one should take special precautions on this. For safe tight lacing we recommend that the body be a size 12 (the fallowing measurements are a guideline for a size 12). Bust: 34 inches waist: 26 1/2 inches hip: 36 inches

This is an over bust style corset. This is a longer version then our other corsets. We even added a drawstring around the top to help make it a better fit for those who wish it. ..."try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16214145">

    Victorian Bustle Jacket

Thursday, April 24, 2008, 10:45 AM CST [General]

This Victorian Coat was a custom order. It was just finished over the weekend and shiped to its eager owner on Monday. She should be reciving it soon. She had showed me some images and from those I had sketch a rugh idea of what she might like.

As you can see we had designed a lapeal and over flaps for the pockets. Since the time of the sketches I had worked on drafting the pattern certain things were taken out. The Lapeal was one of the first to leave the project. It looked good on paper but it just didnt look right on the Mock up I did.
You may have noticed in the sketches theire were 3 buttons well I decided to add a 4th becuse I had plenty of buttons and the 4th brought some balance to the coat. You may have noticed the over flaps in the sketches well when it came to the sewing the button hole in the flap we hit a major problem. The Velvet didnt like the idea at all. It jamed up in Willow's Sewing machine. It took her a whole day to get the pices of velvet out of her machine. So for now their are no Pocket flaps on it. She is working on a way to do them. The customer said if Willow could make the flaps and send them with instructions she could sew them onto the coat. The Final product of all this was a Purple Velvet Coat Lined with Gold Satain with gold satain ruffle cuffs on the sleeves. Their is Gold Metalic trim edging the whole project, Gold Rattail for the button loops and lace up loops in the back. 14kgold plated Buttons, and Gold wide ribbon for the laceing in the back. This allows the wearer to tighten or lossen the jacket For a form fitting look.

    Greetings,

Now these two are driffrent as night and day (litterly one is a night owl the other a day bird). They are a handful but I wouldnt give em up. I am merried to LeUrick wo works in a desil shop, his main goal is to become a tattoo artist.

I own a small home based bussness. I make the majority of our items, from ren clothing to soap. I love makeing things and back in july i started to sell my stuff off. I have no more room in my home for it. The clothing is all by the order i cater to the clintes color wants and sizing. I am puting together a catalog of all my stuff, lots of work and editing, but it will be ready by March 20th (spring equinox). I am running a small classified section for $2.00 one can have a text ad. minumum is 25 words, for more detials just contact me either through here or at my e-mail sacredoak2002@yahoo.com. I am also accepting Stories, poems and intervies of other rennies and pagan folks. Its a cross betwenn a catalog and a magazine. Deadline is March 18th.

My shop addy is http://www.sacredoak.etsy.com  I will have more up very soon! I am also haveing a sell that ends on March 17th at midnight!

one of my long term goals is to do the ren merchent thing. I would love to do that! But I have very little experiance in live sells and I do have so many questions that only other merchants could help with or those who run fairs. I would hate to cross anyones toes or taken advantage of becuse of my little experiance.
